Our primary service is intersecting the movement of waste from homes and businesses to the landfill to increase recovery of plastics and other recyclable materials. Plastic being our focus. In Canada, recyclable material in the waste makes up 72%, of which 13% is plastic. However, of all the plastics generated, only 9% is recycled. Globally, 50% is landfilled and only 9% recycled. As a result, removing all the plastic from the garbage stream will be our commitment so that Canada can reach its plastic zero-waste goal by 2040.
To encourage environmental stewardship and measure environmental impact, our services include developing a metrics application (app) to monitor consumption and recycling behavior. For environmentally friendly individuals and businesses, having a metric for eco-conscientious behavior is as important as brushing your teeth. For governmental systems, an efficient metric system that informs decision-making and performance metrics has yet to be developed.
